This is very similar to SLA display of service desk issues. But it is just status based and shows duration passed not remaining duration. Also it will be available for any issue type.

You can use our user manual get more information on this custom field. Note that it is a custom field and you can use it on the issue page or on the issue navigator to see time in status of multiple issues at the same time.
