Ability to generate a reminder without using email (ie in JIRA only)

Description

This is looking like a great feature. However we are trying to remove a reliance on email from various points including JIRA. As a result can we make it so that sending an email is optional. That way staff will be able to look in JIRA for reminders rather than trying to locate them in rather busy mailboxes

This is certainly a good feature. We like to implement it but we can't promise a deadline. First of all, where you like reminders to be shown?

  • On top of menu as in the case with various jira administration notifications.

  • On the right hand side of any issue

  • A new notification icon on next to profile avatar on the right top. Like it is done in confluence.

Quite honestly I hadnt given that much thought. At the minute I can think of two main scenarios

1. Within an issue in which case the reminders for that issue should be shown in the issue (and I think your software already does this)
2. Else where in JIRA in which case some kind of indicator next to profile which when clicked on will give a list of all reminders alllocated to a user.

I will probably sleep on this tonight and give some more feedback in the morning.

Thanks Lyn

Sorry overnight turned out to be quite a lengthy period. I am down on staff, and as result evaluations have slipped down my piority list.

On reflection, I think this needs to be a configuration option - either by the addon itself or by project. And related to this is the ability to turn reminders off for some projects.

Do you have any idea when you will be able to get to this? As I said we do not want the email alerts from notification and so are only looking for something that will be in jira only.
